What began as a simple idea for a summer program for kids who’d like to “put on a show” has blossomed into a stellar Musical Theatre intensive study program  that has served more than 1,500 students in its’ 25 year history. As Arts budgets dwindle in school districts across America, Foothill Summer Theatre’s Board of Directors and its’ volunteers strive to provide a quality educational experience in the Performing Arts taught by some of the finest teachers and working professionals available. While originally conceived as a program to serve the communities of La Canada and La Crescenta, students now come from all over the Los Angeles area to audition for one of the 50 coveted spots in the six week program where they will hone their drama, dance and choral music skills. For some, this training will further their goals of becoming professional entertainers. For others, it will be a memorable summer of developing their public speaking skills, of learning the value of working as an “ensemble” and for the appreciation of an individual’s unique talents.

Foothill Summer Theatre is a California non-profit organization. It is funded through tuition payments, the support of the business community, by ticket sales and the generosity of local organizations and individual donors. It is our goal to accept students based on their talent, not on their ability to pay. Interested parties can contact us at 818 242 4450 or write to us at Foothill Summer Theatre, P.O. Box 684, La Canada Flintridge, 91012.
